This talk explores the various uses of homeopathy for cancer treatment as well as presenting the basic philosophy and principles of homeopathic care. Homeopathy can play an important part in the integrated care of cancer patients. There are three categories of homeopathic treatment that can be specifically applied to cancer care. The first is the widely understood value of homeopathic remedies in addressing the side-effects and after-effects of conventional cancer treatment such as nausea, mouth sores, radiation burns, and so on. Secondly, homeopathic constitutional treatment – the gold standard of treatment that addresses the whole patient– can be beneficial in helping cancer patients attain a general improvement in their overall well-being, physically, mentally and emotionally. Finally, some patients chose to use homeopathy as a primary cancer therapy. Following the protocols established by the Indian doctor, Dr. AU Ramakrishnan, a technique called “plussing” can be used to treat many kinds of cancers. This approach is not suitable for all patients and is generally recommended as part of a larger therapeutic plan, and in conjunction with other treatment modalities including surgery.
